Today I came into college extra early to get some work completed that I missed yesterday. I am glad I did this because it means I am more caught up with my workload. Today we looked at how companies use data and what the most important functionalities of them are. A strength of today was that I updated my workload list so I am more organised to work in the near future.
The next piece of work that I have due is on the 2nd of February which is for Unit 24.

My next assignment is due on the 2nd of February which is a week away.
You will be able to analyse the language in a job advertisement for both explicit and implicit meaning.
To understand how to apply your own experience to the requirements of a job description.
To write a paragraph recommending yourself to an employer, applying your knowledge of implicit reading skills.
Set yourself a new SMART target on your PDP.
This afternoon we had a tutorial hour which covered the key aspects for applying for jobs. I learnt that it is important to read between the lines in a job description to identify what type of person the employer is really looking for. We also practiced using types of logic gates which I found very difficult at the start but got the hang of how they work after practicing with different examples.
My next assignment is due on the 2nd of February which is one week away today.

Learning Outcomes (what the learner will be able to do)
Be able to state the difference between data and information
Give examples of processing that may happen to data
Identify why data is so valuable to companies
Identify how data becomes information
Identify how companies use information to make money
Explain how companies use information to make money

This afternoon we started looking at the new unit which is Unit 3. A weakness of this is that data can be seen as boring to deal with but I am experienced with understanding and using data. I now understand what good data looks like and what types of data there are.
My next pieces of work due are U13 A3T2 and A3T3 which are both due tonight.

Research further key aspects of Event Driven Programming
Review what is required for A1T2
This afternoon we had a talk from the head of center about advice for jobs and apprenticeships which has given me some good advice on what to apply for in the near future. I set myself a SMART target to apply for as many part-time jobs as possible over the weekend and to make sure that my CV is up to date. An example of a user event driven program is opening a program. This would have an output of opening and setting up the program. A weakness of this afternoon was that I asked to start blogs in which the tutor thought was "a bit cheeky".
The next assignment I have due is today which U24 A1T1.

Identify useful sources
Select best sources
Today we went over the final two assignments which are A3T2 and A3T3 of U13. I am confident in completing A3T2 however I might need some help with A3T3 as I am confused in what to do. We played two Kahoot quizzes about hardware and software troubleshooting and I scored high on the first one but struggled with the second as it was very complex.
The next piece of work that I have due is a U13 resubmission tonight and I am also behind on two pieces of U20 work.

Aims: To be able to design input and output HCIs to meet given specifications
To be able to explain how an HCI could be adjusted for specialist needs
Objectives:
Create designs for the Sundown festival, including the input and output tasks/activities they include
Comprehensively explain what is meant by specialist need
Describe three ways that an interface could be adapted for visual impairment
State at least one way that an interface could be adapted for each of the other specialist needs: aural, oral and physical impairment and reading difficulties/dyslexia
Today I learnt about impaired users and how you can design an HCI to suit their needs. I managed to finish and submit U23 work. A weakness of today was that I was one minute late back for class. I also need to complete lots more work at home due to being behind on some parts.
The next assignment that I have due is U20 web development as it is late and I need to work on it soon.

Learning Objectives:
Explain the basics of Event Driven Programming
Explain some advanced aspects of Event Driven Programming
Outline what is required to complete A1T1
Work on completion of A1T1
This morning we started a new unit which was U14 which is all about event driven programming. I think that I have a head start in this unit because the write up is similar from the things we learnt about programing last year. My SMART target that I have set myself for this week is To complete as much conductive research over the period of next week so that I am confident in writing up my assignment.
The next assignment that I have due is U13 which is due today so I need to make sure it is complete and handed in by tonight.
Objectives
Identify the difference between analogue and digital
Identify where analogue / digital signals are from and their uses
Understand the process of conversion
This afternoon we also started a new unit which is U24 which is about controlling systems and analogue/digital signals. I remember some of this when I was back at school so can already understand most of it. Our tutor hour was about democracy and I scored 5/10 on the questions.

Aim: To be able to design input and output HCIs to meet a given specification
Objectives:
Explain some fundamental principles for HCI designs
Understand the importance of designing prototypes
Create some designs using Evolus Pencil which include some of the fundamental principles of HCI design
Today I started the new assignment which was U23 A2T2 and I managed to create a design for every page of my app which I am happy about. A weakness of today is that I swallowed a fish bone while eating my lunch. I learnt more about HCI in particular color schemes and how to layout my application.
My next deadline was due on Friday but I could not hand it in because I had issues uploading my website onto the server. I need to finish it as soon as possible.

Lesson Aim:
To work on the completion of A3.
Finalise all work for the unit.
Learning Outcomes:
Learners able to identify problem areas of A3.
Learners to set a SMART target related to current progress.
Learners to review aforementioned SMART target.
Learning Objectives:
Develop knowledge on using Blender to create 3D models.
Demonstrate what constitutes a good SMART target.
Identify how critical feedback can lead to increased quality of work.
Work on submission of A3
Today I came into college to complete and completed all of my work for Unit 41 which is now crossed off on my workload list. This means that I can now focus on other units without worrying until I get a resubmission. My SMART target for today was to maintain my sleeping schedule so that I have at least 8 hours sleep on college nights. This will means I can be awake to work as much as possible in class. We had a tutor hour today on resilience and three methods of coping with stress that I would use are sleeping, eating and finding something to distract/entertain myself. A weakness of today is that I didn't manage to fully complete my website so I still have to wait a while before I can continue working on the U20 assignments.
My next peice of work is due on the 12th of January for unit 23.
