Design and create a 3D model
Introduce Assignment 3

Learning Outcomes:
Research and assess possible designs
Create justification for your choice in designs
Present designs for feedback
Create a simple, small 3D model from a design
Create a more detailed, small 3D model following your design.
Continue work on A2T1 and A2T2
Begin collating ideas for A3

Learning Objectives:
Develop knowledge on using Blender to create 3D models
Understand how to create a design plan for a 3D model
Work toward completion of A2T1/A2T2
Understand what is required to complete A3

Today I started off my day at college by creating a 3D model in Blender. My ideas were to model Morrison's and Norwich Castle but I went with the castle because I thought that Morrison's was very big and has a lot detail into the roof and the outside. A rendered image of my model can be seen below. A disadvantage of today was that the road was cut off due to road works so busses were not running. I had to walk 40 minutes down the road to try and find a bus. We also looked at the requirements for A3T1/T2/T3

My next deadline is the 14th of November in which A2 is due for unit 41.

Lesson Aim:
Use suitable hardware and software tools for troubleshooting

Learning Outcomes (what the learner will be able to do)
Identify useful software tools
Justify useful software tools
Use identified software tools
Identify useful hardware tools
Justify useful hardware tools
Use identified hardware tools
Identify how to communicate effectively with a user
Work with peers to achieve an outcome
Identify potential risks
Mitigate potential risks

Learning Objectives (skills, knowledge & attitudes)
Work safely
Present work

Today I created a presentation about one type of hardware and software tool that can be used to fix a PC. I think that I was one of a few people that chose a different type software and hardware. I also came in early this morning to finish some resubmissions that I needed to hand in. Later in the afternoon I helped fix the problems that we diagnosed last week. This has helped me get a feel of what the practical assignment will be like.

My next assignment is due on the 10th of November which is a resubmission.

Aims and Objectives 06/11/17
Aim: To create an interactive website for a stated client, using CSS to control the layout
To understand good practice when writing code

Objective:
Create a responsive website for a stated client using HTML5,and CSS
Make the website responsive
Add interactive elements using a scripting language e.g. JavaScript
Employ good practice in the design and implementation of web pages
Use effective written communication skills

Today we started developing our websites and I managed to make some big progress on the layout and design. I also managed insert an interactive photo slideshow that shows 3 different images of games. On the other hand, bootstrap has partially ruined my website because it has changed the colour of my navigation to black.

I have one resubmission due tomorrow and another two due on the 7th but I have no internet at home so may have to come in early tomorrow to finish them.

Lesson Aim:
Continue work on A2
Finalise changes on A1 for resubmission
Continue developing skills working in Blender
Design and create a 3D model

Learning Outcomes:
Research and assess possible designs
Create justification for your choice in designs
Present designs for feedback
Create a simple, small 3D model from a design
Create a more detailed, small 3D model following your design.
Offer constructive feedback on improvements to a peer’s work
Break down the requirements for A2T1 and A2T2
Continue planning for A2T1 and A2T2

Learning Objectives:
Develop knowledge on using Blender to create 3D models
Understand how to create a design plan for a 3D model
Critically evaluate peer work
Understand the requirements for A2T1 an A2T2

Today we were given the task of creating a 3D model based on a TV or film character. My two idea that I had were Shrek and Mike Wazowski from Monsters Inc but I decided to try and create Mike because he has a simple spherical shape to him. We also learnt about Brittish Values and I now know that the four values are democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect.

Lesson Aim:
Consider factors and tools for when working on a computer

Learning Outcomes (what the learner will be able to do)
Identify useful software
Justify useful software tools
Use identified software tools
Understand the areas that trouble shooting may impact
Develop an answer to include higher level thinking skills
Follow expectations on the processes that need to be taken when submitting work

Learning Objectives (skills, knowledge & attitudes)
Record useful sources
Critique work

Today we bonded into groups and did some practical work on PCs. I thought that this was helpful because this practice will be put to good use when it comes to the practical part of our assignment. I also made changes to my practical sheet that I will use when troubleshooting PCs. We also looked at different software that can be externally used to troubleshoot other PCs such as anti virus, disk cleaner and image data backup.

I have missed some pieces of work due to having no internet until the 15th of November. My next assignment is due tonight which is U20 A3T1.

Today we started to plan ideas for our Unit 41 3D model design. I decided to go with a nature theme so I could design models such as trees, animals and other aspects of the theme. We had an hour dedicated to learning about safeguarding and how it protects people like college students. Finally, I created a 3D model of a cactus in Blender.

The next assignment I have due is a resubmission for Unit 13 which is due the 27th of October. I also have U20 work that is due the 31st of October and U41 work due in November so have some time to make a start on it.

Today we spent around two and a half hours reviewing A1T1 for unit 13. Looking at example of my peers work, it was easy to spot mistakes that were related to wording issues, grammar and using the wrong information. I felt that it was embarrassing for me when looking over an example of my work but at the same time, this helped me gain confidence on writing that particular part because the class helped me correct it and suggest how to improve different parts.

The next assignment I have due is a resubmission for Unit 13 which is due the 27th of October. I also have U20 work that is due the 31st of October and U41 work due in November so have some time to make a start on it.
